Hours of queues on M25 clockwise after crash

Motorists on the M25 are experiencing delays of around an hour on Friday afternoon due to an accident.

National Highways warned that motorists should expect around eight miles of traffic on the clockwise carriageway at Junction 27, near Epping, where the outer lane is closed due to the collision.

The Metropolitan Line and Piccadilly Line were partially suspended on Friday afternoon but have now reopened.

Minor delays remain on the Central and Piccadilly lines.

There are minor delays on the Piccadilly Line between Acton Town and Uxbridge/Heathrow Airport due to train cancellations.

Minor delays also persist on the Central Line due to an ongoing shortage of trains.

Delays on the M25 clockwise now for around an hour

Delays on the M25 clockwise at junction 27 are now lasting around an hour, with traffic backed up for eight miles, according to National Highways.

Moderate delays on the M25 near Chorleywood

There are delays of up to 50 minutes on the M25 near Rickmansworth after a road accident.

One lane is closed on the clockwise route between J17 and J18.

National Express, which operates coaches, told customers: “Diversions will be in place.

“We apologize for any inconvenience.”

Elizabeth Line could get new operators

TfL has said five operators have been shortlisted to operate the Elizabeth line.

The line opened in May 2022 and has since made more than 300 million journeys.

The current contract for the operation of the line is held by MTR until May 2025.

Those shortlisted to operate it are MTR, who have re-tendered for the contract, and Arriva UK Trains, First Keolis, GTS Rail Operations, Sumitomo Corporation and Tokyo Metro Co. Ltd.

Jubilee Line returns to normal service

The Jubilee line has now returned to normal service.

The metro line was previously seriously delayed due to a switch failure and subsequently overflowing electrical works.

The disruption at Moorgate has now been resolved and all train lines have now reopened.

Planned overhead strikes next week called off

Planned strikes next week by London Overground workers have been called off after a pay offer was improved, the RMT union says.

Members of the RMT employed by Arriva Rail London on the Overground were forced to walk off duty for 48 hours on February 19 and again on March 4 due to a pay dispute.

But the union said “progress” had been made on the wage offer previously submitted by Arriva, meaning this will not go ahead.

The power outage is affecting Moorgate services

National rail services between Moorgate and Finsbury Park are being disrupted by a previous train failure.

This is due to a power outage at Moorgate, which caused the power to go out several times.

Passengers are told to allow at least an additional 30 minutes to complete their journey, or take an alternate route.

Metro services are not affected.

North London Tube station will remain closed until September

A North London tube station closed for repairs will remain shut until September.

Essential work to replace both 26-year-old escalators at Kentish Town Tube station started in June, with TfL advising it would take a year.

However, due to “unrelated work” that also needs to be done, the station is likely to be closed until September – a year and three months after it was last open.

The train line to Gatwick will reopen, but disruption is expected

Trains can now resume running between Three Bridges and Gatwick Airport, but passengers are being warned of reduced services.

The line was closed as emergency services responded to reports that a person had been hit by a train in the area.

Passengers are still advised to travel later if possible, and to allow an additional 60 minutes for travel on the route.

Minor delays on Piccadilly Line

There are minor delays on the Piccadilly line between Acton Town and Rayners Lane.

TfL says this is due to train cancellations.

There are also minor delays on the Central Line, due to the persistent shortage of trains.

Metropolitan line suspended in central London

The Metropolitan line has been partially suspended for eight stops between Baker Street and Aldgate due to the late completion of engineering work.

There are serious delays on the rest of the line.

Delays on the Jubilee line in North London

There are serious delays between Wembley Park and Stanmore on the Jubilee line, TfL said, due to late completion of engineering work.

There are also minor delays between Wembley Park and Stratford.

Gatwick trains suspended after person hit by train

Services to Gatwick Airport have been disrupted after a person was hit by a train between Three Bridges and Gatwick Airport.

To allow the emergency services to do their work safely, all lines are closed. As a result, trains are cancelled, severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

According to National Rail, disruption is expected until 10am.

Major disruption to services to Stansted Airport due to a signal failure

A fault in the signaling system at Stansted Airport means trains to and from the airport may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

A greatly reduced service is active.

National Rail said major disruptions are expected until 2pm.

Affected routes include Greater Anglia between Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport, and between Stansted Airport and Norwich, and the Stansted Express between London Liverpool Street and the airport.
