Customers of Morrisons, Tesco and Aldi, Amazon and Blacks issued safety warnings for these items in the latest product recalls

A number of items sold online and in popular high street stores have been recalled this week over concerns they could pose health and safety risks.

The products include a number of buoyancy aids and life jackets sold on Amazon, as well as food items from Aldi, Morrisons and Tesco, including chicken kebabs and chocolate biscuits, which have been listed as ‘unsafe to eat’.

There are also a number of heaters, sold in stores such as Go Outdoors and Millets, in addition to a range of ladders, sold through Amazon, which have been recalled in the past seven days.

Product recalls are issued by merchants over products that may endanger the safety of those who use them. Anyone who purchased one of the affected products can claim a full refund by returning the item to the point of sale.

We’ve listed some of this week’s recalls below, with the reasons for each issue and what you need to do to request a refund.

Tesco – Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel & Dreamy Caramel multipack chocolate bars

The Food Standards Agency has issued a notice that Tesco is recalling certain Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars and Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipacks.

They are being recalled because they contain peanuts, which are not listed on the label, creating a potential health risk for anyone with a peanut allergy.

The affected products are the 6 x 40g Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack with a best before date of 28 February 2025, and the 6 x 40g Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack with a best before date of 31 January 2025 or 28 February 2025.

If you have purchased the above products, do not eat them. Instead, return them to a Tesco store for a full refund. You can contact Tesco customer service on 0800 505 555.

Aldi – Ashfields Grill 4 Garlic & Herb Chicken Kebabs

Aldi has recalled a batch of Ashfields Grill 4 Garlic & Herb Chicken Kebabs due to a labeling error showing an incorrect best before date, making the product unsafe to eat.

The recall concerns the 320 gram packs with a best before date of July 9, 2024. This date is incorrect and should be June 9, 2024 instead.

Morrisons has recalled a batch of its paper-thin cooked chicken because it may contain small pieces of metal, making it unsafe to eat.

This concerns all packages of 400 grams with an expiration date up to and including June 16, 2024.

Return the product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

Amazon – Rikade telescopic ladders

A number of unpainted and black Rikade brand telescopic ladders sold through Amazon have been recalled because they pose a serious risk of injury. The safety devices designed to protect hands when folding the ladders may fail during use and may not support sufficient load before collapsing and collapsing. This means that the user can fall from a height.

The ladders larger than 3 meters are also not equipped with a stabilizer, which means that they can become unstable during use and cause the user to fall.

Amazon – HiSEA Buoyancy aid size S

The HiSEA product has been assessed as posing a serious risk of drowning, according to the Office for Product Safety and Standards.

The size S product was advertised as a life jacket, but was identified as a buoyancy aid after purchase and therefore does not provide the same level of protection. In addition, the jacket did not meet the minimum buoyancy requirement.

The affected product has the ASIN code B09YRPD6TP. The listing has since been removed by Amazon, but please contact their customer service if you purchased one.

Go Outdoors, Go Outdoors Express, Blacks, Millets, Fishing Republic and Ultimate Outdoors – OEX folding gas heaters

Two styles of OEX brand folding gas stoves have been recalled, both of which have been on sale since January 2023.

OEX’s Folding Novo Stove and Folding Savo Stove have been determined to pose a risk of fire, explosion and burns. It has been found that the gas hose supplied with the products may deteriorate over time, leading to a gas leak and possible ignition of the hose.

This concerns the following models (production numbers/codes):

  • 16575986 / 636246

Owners should immediately stop using the affected heaters and return to the place of purchase.

The products have been recalled and withdrawn from the market. Affected stoves can be returned to one of the following stores: Go Outdoors, Go Outdoors Express, Blacks, Millets, Fishing Republic and Ultimate Outdoors.

Go Outdoors, Go Outdoors Express, Blacks, Millets, Fishing Republic and Ultimate Outdoors – Vango folding gas heaters

Similarly, two styles of Vango brand collapsible gas stoves with hose have also been recalled for the same reasons.

The folding gas heater ACXSTOVE DAKZ36 and the folding gas heater with windshield and piezo ACXSTOVE DEWZ36, which have been on sale since September 2022, are also known to pose a risk of fire, explosions and burns because the hose over time may deteriorate over time, leading to a gas leak and possible hose inflammation.

Owners should immediately stop using the affected heaters and return to the place of purchase. The products have been recalled and withdrawn from the market.
