I really love a bit of color and would say don’t be afraid to step outside the grey, navy and black. Look at beautiful burgundy, biscuit, red wine or jewel tones; they can be neutral but fun. When I need a parachute outfit, I’m a big fan of keeping the same color and mixing texture. This is a suit from Reiss and a matching silk shirt in peacock blue. I love it for today with a pair of sneakers, a hat in a bold color and my Tissa Fontaneda bag. If you’re going to spend a lot of money, buy a great blazer. With proportions anything is possible. Personally, I’m over the whole oversized thing, but that’s still a big go-to. In the evening I’m a fan of jeans, a bright, buttery cashmere and a high heel. At the office I wear my Air Force and then switch to the Aquazzuras and a chandelier earring. It can be that simple. If nothing bothers you, just put on a good coat. It will get you through the day.

Hannah’s choice:

I would recommend shopping vintage when it comes to fall/winter outfits. You can find some great statement pieces there that you can mix with your look and give it a bit of uniqueness. Today I’m wearing a thrifted tweed skirt I found at a vintage store in LA, a Comme des Garçons Play sweater, which I think is cute, and a shirt from Gap. I found this vintage biker jacket on Depop for £70, which was great, and I dressed it up with a Christian Louboutin shoe and patent sock. If you invest in something, buy a really good jacket. I just found a beautiful, vintage boxy Burberry. My top vintage haunts are Rellik on Golborne Road, Found and Vision near Portobello Market and The 543, which is online. When I shop in the shopping street, it is Arket. Not too expensive, and they have some great pieces. My only real clothing advice, though, is to wear what makes you happy.

The mix between day and night comes naturally to me: wearing a sequined skirt and a creamy contrast knit is something I’ve always done, or a smart evening shoe with a thick cashmere hiking sock. Wear something simple with crystal earrings for your 10am board meeting. My styling tip for 2023 is playing with texture: today I’m wearing a shearling jacket from my favorite London brand 16Arlington, a skirt with sequins and pleats and a beautiful cashmere twin set from Uniqlo. I also like uniform clothing. My formula is knits, heels and midi skirt, and I find quite a bit of freedom in that when I get dressed in the morning. It’s a great base to then play with textures and accessories. We’re told to invest in the basics, but I think it’s really nice to invest in something that’s a bit more of a statement: try the red tulle skirt!

Naomi’s choice:

When I dress, I think: how can I turn really nice clothes into a really comfortable outfit? My sweater is made of beautiful cashmere, my trousers are from Issey Miyake – my go-to every day – and a statement jacket from Bottega Veneta. You have to think architecturally about the effect you want to achieve, which is smooth and clean. Try a sweater with high-waisted pants and a cropped jacket to add a little interest. Save up for a truly classic gray single-breasted postman coat: like Ethan Hawke in Gattaca. COS has a very good one.
