Arsenal fans fail in fireworks plans

Arsenal supporters failed in their attempts to disrupt Manchester City’s preparations for their clash with Tottenham.
Videos posted on social media show Gunners fans setting off fireworks outside a hotel where they thought the City side would be staying ahead of tonight’s match.
But it is understood the City players stayed in Manchester on Monday night and only traveled to London this morning.
That had always been the club’s plan and as a result, Arsenal fans’ attempts to disrupt the sleep of City players failed.
Arsenal fan group Ashburton Army are believed to be behind the fireworks, which were set off outside the Marriott Hotel in Waltham Abbey at around 2am.

Spurs need to close down City’s left wing

Man City left-back Josko Gvardiol has scored five goals in seven games, including a goal in last weekend’s 4-0 win over Fulham, while Phil Foden remains in scintillating form, leaving City’s left flank looking ominous.
The hard-working Dejan Kulusevski and right-back Pedro Porro will have a huge job to do defensively, especially with midfielder Yves Bissouma missing with a knee injury.
But closing down City’s left flank could quell the attacking threat somewhat.

Spurs have even had something of a hoodoo over City domestically in recent years – winning every league match without conceding since moving to their new stadium – but this is still a side who have repeatedly flattered to deceive in recent weeks, against a team that is. score for fun.

Rodrigo Bentancur is the most likely player to replace Bissouma at the base of midfield, although Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could also come into the starting line-up.
Oliver Skipp will likely be needed at left-back again, but Micky van de Ven could play there after a late goal-scoring cameo from the full-back against the Clarets. Radu Dragusin would come in as central defender if Van de Ven starts on the left.
