West Ham vs Liverpool LIVE! Premier League match stream, Arne Slot latest news, updates, TV, lineups today

West Ham vs Liverpool – LIVE!

Liverpool must ensure their season is not completely derailed when they travel to West Ham in the lunchtime kick-off. Defeat in the Merseyside derby in midweek leaves the Reds in need of big favors from Arsenal and Manchester City if they are to give Jurgen Klopp a perfect send-off.

Much of the focus leading up to this match has been on Klopp’s successor, with Arne Slot set to take charge at Liverpool this summer. A compensation deal has been struck with Feyenoord and the Dutchman, who has made it clear he wants the job, now looks certain to be the next man at Anfield.

West Ham put in a terrible performance themselves last time out as Crystal Palace scored 5-2. There is every chance this could be David Moyes’ last few weeks in charge of the club, which faces an uphill battle to secure European qualification. Follow all the action with Standard Sport’s LIVE blog, with expert analysis from Dom Smith on the ground.

Moyes is not thinking about West Ham’s future

David Moyes has no interest in who could replace him as West Ham manager as he confirmed talks over his future have been put on hold.

Moyes’ contract as West Ham manager expires this summer and he is expected to be in charge after four-and-a-half years.

The club are believed to be considering successors after meeting with Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim this week, as well as former Wolves and Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui.

Moyes insists his future will not be decided until the summer, saying: “I have had no communication at all. That’s because we already decided among ourselves that we would talk at the end of the season.

“There is a lot of speculation, I understand that. But we have to get things in order.”

Asked for his thoughts on the names linked to his replacement, Moyes said: “I have to be honest, I haven’t looked. I’m only told by people like you, or maybe people have called me.

‘But I didn’t go looking. As far as I’m concerned, we agreed that we would speak to each other at the end of the season.”

Slot will be the next Liverpool boss

Liverpool have reportedly struck a deal with Feyenoord to hire Arne Slot as their new manager.

Jurgen Klopp is set to leave Anfield this summer and talks are underway between the Premier League giants and last year’s Eredivisie champions over Slot’s replacement for the German.

Multiple reports state that a £9.4 million compensation package has now been verbally agreed.

Slot, who has publicly expressed his interest in becoming Liverpool boss, is now free to negotiate his terms with the club.

According to The Athletic, deals have also been concluded for the takeover of coach Sipke Hulshoff and performance head Ruben Peeters.

Standard sports prediction

Liverpool need to pick themselves up and get a result to keep their faint hopes of a title win alive. Klopp will leave his players in no doubt about what is at stake despite midweek’s disappointment.

West Ham were exhausted from the start against Crystal Palace and with David Moyes possibly in his final few weeks in charge, it could prove to be a painful end to the season.

Liverpool wins 2-0.

Liverpool team news

Liverpool have Cody Gakpo back in the fray against West Ham, but Diogo Jota is still out.

The Reds boss rested the likes of Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Alexis Mac Allister for the win at Fulham before the short trip to Goodison Park, but it had little impact on their performances.

It’s a quick turnaround for the trip to east London and it remains to be seen whether Klopp chooses to shuffle his pack again.

Gakpo missed the defeat against Everton due to the birth of his first child, but Klopp confirmed at his press conference on Friday that the Dutchman is now back in training.

Nunez and Salah both wasted in front of goal, once against Everton, Gakpo was able to return to the starting line-up.

Jota is injured but should return before the end of the season, while Conor Bradley remains on the sidelines.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, Van Dijk, Robertson; Endo, MacAllister, Jones; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz

West Ham team news

West Ham hope to have Jarrod Bowen available this afternoon.

Bowen has 20 Premier League goals to his name this season and needs a strong finish to the season to be in the England squad for Euro 2024, but has missed the last two games due to a back injury.

However, Nayef Aguerd will miss the visit of Jurgen Klopp’s side due to a foot injury, while Konstantinos Mavropanos faces a race to get fit.

“Jarrod Bowen is back in training so there is a good chance Jarrod will be available,” David Moyes said on Friday.

‘We still have to keep a close eye on him [to the game] just to see how he goes, but hopefully Jarrod is back and fit.

Predicted West Ham XI (4-2-3-1): Fabianski; Coufal, Zouma, Ogbonna, Emerson; Soucek, Alvarez; Kudus, Paqueta, Bowen; Antonio
