Zara x Barbie, Balmain x Beyoncé and more major fashion collaborations from 2023

Collaborations can bring good business, attracting new customers with pop culture sensations and generating buzz (and sales) in the process.

In 2023, Fendi collaborated with Marc Jacobs, Balmain collaborated with Beyoncé and Louis Vuitton collaborated with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. But fashion collaborations are not a new idea. In 1937, Salvador Dali collaborated with Schiaparelli, and his influence can once again be seen as a source of inspiration for Daniel Roseberry’s Spring 2024 collection.

More from WWD

H&M has orchestrated several collaborations with high fashion designers, including in 2004 with Karl Lagerfeld. Since then, H&M has collaborated with Versace, Comme des Garçons, Balmain, Maison Margiela and Stella McCartney. In October, H&M unveiled a new collaboration with the French house Rabanne.

Here, WWD looks back at some of the fashion collaborations released in 2023.
